I’m a writer, editor, and educator who cares deeply about helping kids get access to high-quality K–12 education. My writing has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and other publications. In the past I’ve also taught writing to elementary school students, college students, and incarcerated male inmates. I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, and currently reside with my family in Miami, Florida.
